Community Outreach and Civic Action Ideas
1. Eco-sustainability can't stop at the church door. It must lead to action for environmental justice. United Methodist Women's excellent webinars and curriculum are a wonderful in-depth resource for your Green Team and more.
2. Project Snowfall is a low-intensity form of political action that can involve young folks and older folks. Invite participants to draw or color flowers, butterflies, trees etc. on a postcard with a gentle message inviting the recipient state legislator or other official to consider the health of air, earth and water when making decisions. Hand-address them for the best response.
3. Celebrate your church's eco-action in a community holiday parade. Here is Euclid Avenue's participation in Oak Park's Fourth of July parade.
